Rick led Green Mountain’s Supply Chain Community Outreach, where he worked for 27 years. He has also served as President of the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA), the world’s largest coffee trade association, as a member of the Fair Trade Labeling Organizations International (FLO) Board of Directors, and Root Capital. He currently serves on the Boards of Directors of Food 4 Farmers (a NGO he co-founded), The Coffee Trust, The Tropics Foundation, and New Hampton School. Rick co-authored “Brewing Change: Behind the Bean at Green Mountain Coffee Roasters” (Published in English, Spanish, and Korean). He was instrumental in producing the documentary “After the Harvest” which focused on chronic seasonal food insecurity in coffee communities, and in convening The Coalition for Coffee Communities - comprised of coffee companies working pre-competitively to improve the quality of life for coffee farming families.
